“Our decisions have ramifications for companies and markets, and although it is uncommon for our decisions to be referred for judicial review, we have to be prepared for such an outcome.
“There is no margin for error in how correspondence associated with a case is managed and stored. We needed a system that could guarantee the integrity of our documents as well as allowing us to search and retrieve the necessary data quickly. By managing our information using an electronic platform we can quickly locate required documents as well as avoiding duplication and reducing the amount of space required to retain information.
“We anticipate that we will make savings through the implementation of Wisdom because it will enable us to streamline our information management processes. As we have refreshed our IT recently, the ROI that we generate as a result will be as part of a larger, enterprise project.”

Competition Commission
The Competition Commission has gone live with Wisdom in order to create an auditable and secure repository of structured and unstructured data types. Since the 2003 Enterprise Act, the Commission has had full authority to make the final decision in relation to merger and market competition matters. If companies do not agree with the Commission’s decision they can refer it to an independent appeal body. Although instances like this are rare, the Commission has to be able to present all its documentation in relation to the case, the audit trails associated with them and be able to guarantee the authenticity of those documents.
